Poem: Warrior Gentle

Warrior Gentle
©Biz Gainey December 2014

You are the warrior gentle, Lord;
Who sifts my heart with love.
Softly you storm, dark walls of strife;
Delight – ferocious - from above!

You are the warrior gentle, Lord;
Who probes my heartsick woe.
Putting to flight grey cloaked skies;
Setting sail my sin sick soul.

You are the warrior gentle, Lord;
Whose presence draws me near.
Your fire warms my inner chill;
Flaming embers dry my tears.

You are the warrior gentle, Lord;
You salve my heart ensnared.
A fierce relief, I find your offering;
My life once bound, now unimpaired.

You are the warrior gentle, Lord;
Whose enchantment stirs my loves.
Blood stained hands caress my beating heart;

New life descends from hallowed halls above.

Sloth, A Limerick

Sloth
A Limerick, ©Biz Gainey, 2015

In these words rest cruel meaning for some,
"What I do shapes who I will become.”
From my head to my feet,
Rise from slumber and sleep.
To the couch where I lay like a bum.
